Extended Hours Apply to Weekdays and Public Holidays
Sharjah has updated the paid parking hours for specific seven-day zones as of Sunday, October 27. Recognizable by blue parking signs, these zones now require payment from 8 a.m. until midnight, effective November 1. Previously, the parking fees were enforced from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
These newly extended 16-hour parking zones will operate daily, including on public holidays. Parking spaces in Sharjah are usually marked by blue and white curb paint and accompanied by signs detailing usage instructions and fees.
According to the Sharjah City Municipality, the extension of paid parking hours in these “Blue zones” aims to improve parking efficiency and ensure better space availability across the city. The new paid hours apply to all designated paid parking zones in Sharjah, and drivers can conveniently pay via the emirate’s SMS parking service.

Sharjah offers a convenient SMS payment option for public parking, allowing users to pay for 1, 2, 3, or 5 hours of parking directly from their mobile phones.
Steps to Use the SMS Parking Service
- Send an SMS to 5566.
- Use the following format in your text message:
“Plate source (e.g., shj) <space> plate number (xxxx) <space> number of hours “

- Shj 1234 1 for 1 hour
- Shj 1234 2 for 2 hours
